Hot Cross Buns

(by Hunter)
Happy Easter everyone.
Let me just say that you have never seen a chocolate easter egg until you see the ostrich size ones they have to offer down here. Whoa, that's a big egg.
Another Aussie easter delight are the hot cross buns. We sampled a pair that just came out of the bakery's oven, and it is a good thing.

Started the day off nicely having breakfast with Jason. He is a friend of one of Candace's friends in Seattle, and turned out to be a super friendly and generous bloke. He introduced us to a great part of the city called Newtown, which has a very lively street life and great shops. He described it as comparable to NYC's East Village, and Candace agreed. I wouldn't know, embarassingly.

Jason was full of useful information, and great company. He gave us an excellent overview of the city's various districts, and fielded endless questions. Thanks Jason, for everything! We look forward to seeing more of you until you leave for Seattle in a couple months.

After a great "brekky", we got a bit of a tour from Jason then set off on foot through Glebe, the University District, and then back through Newtown.

Returning to home (for now) in Potts Point, we put a nice dinner picnic together and sat on the harbo(u)r edge in a nice park on Elizabeth Bay. We tried out a box of wine - also known as "Chateau de Cardboard"- and found it to be quite good plonk.

Cheers,
H
